Indentured Servitude to Paramount Acceptance/EFT Group

Beware, gym and personal trainer consumers... Entanglements with Paramount Acceptance and EFT Group results in indentured servitude. After enrolling in a personal training program at the gym, I decided nearly immediately that it wasn't for me. I had already paid both the first and last month, and within 30 days sent in a written cancellation, per the terms of the agreement. The cancellation was sent via USPS certified mail. Someone must have processed it, because I received the written notice from the bank that all automatic payments from the bank were halted and I thought that was the end of it. Wrong! The harassing phone calls began nearly immediately. First, it was harassment for non -payment. When I explained that I had cancelled the service, no one seemed to have any record of it. Every subsequant call from them never had any record of the previous conversations. When I requested to speak with a manager, I was told he was unavailable and would call me back. He never did.

I requested all further communications be written, I received nothing. The only mail I have received from them is a coupon book, billing me for payemnts from 12 through 4. At this point I sent yet another letter, demanding they clear the account, provide written documentaion and rectify any credit bureau reportings. Nothing but more phone calls.

I then reported them to the BBB. Their first reponse was that they "never recieved the cancellation". After my rebuttal, their next response was "You do not qualify per the terms of the contract to cancel"!!! WHAT??? Am I to believe that I do not have the RIGHT to cancel a service I do not want, have not and can not use and cancelled in good faith PER THE AGRREMENT??!! Their final response throught the BBB was that they do not handle the cancellation anyway... Contact EFT Group. Gee thanks. I did. How do you think the service contract was cancelled in the first place people??? I sent the cancellation to BOTH firms.

Run far and fast from both of these companies.
