ETrex H GPS receiver
Missing part

On Saturday, May 17, I purchased an eTrex H GPS receiver from Dick's Sporting Goods in Altoona, PA. When the cashier, Edward, removed the security alarm from the GPS receiver he accidently threw out the battery cover. When I got home from the store which is 45 miles away I noticed that it was not there. I called that same day and spoke to some supervisor/employee about the situation and he found the battery cover in the trash and I asked if they could mail it to me. The employee I spoke to said that she would have to ask her superivsor. I could tell he wasn't to keen on the idea but I told him I live 45 miles away and I was not coming up for it when it was not my fault. He claimed it would be mailed out first thing Monday morning, May 19th.

On Wednesday, May 21st, I still did not receive the cover. I called and spoke to the General Manager, Greisen, and he said he would look into this and if it was not mailed out, he assured me that it would be. I gave it until May 27th and spoke again to the General Manager. He said it was mailed out and he couldn't believe I didn't receive it.

I called again on May 30th and he said he would bring it to my house. Well after 2 weeks for waiting for a battery cover to get to my house, it finally arrived being delivered by the General Manager himself. When he dropped it off he said that he was glad he could bring it to me. What kind of comment was that! He acted like he did me a favor, the least I expected was a gift card for having to wait two weeks for a battery cover! But no gift card and no reason as to why I didn't receive it in the mail. When I mentioned that I called the day I bought it, he said that I probably didn't speak to a manager. What kind of supervisor/employee can not mail out a battery cover without having to speak to a General Manager!

The General Manager said he hopes to see me again. Well that will never happen in the Altoona store! Their customer service is pathetic!!
