Ripoff mistreated and ripped off

The Mademoiselle Spa in Aurora is seriously taking advantage of people. My personal experience with this facility has been a total nightmare.

It started when they got my number from one of my friends and continuosly called me to come in for my fifteen free visits. So I finally went down there, and I was given fake attention and they told me a bunch of lies about how working out at their facility would benefit me. They also told me that the price I would recieve for signing up with them on the spot would be about $600 less than if I signed up at a later time.

They ignored my requests to think it over and some how through what it now seems as proffessional persuasion convinced me to sign a contract. When I later talked to my friend I discovered that they were charging me $200 more than her. So I returned to the facility and asked out why I was charged so much more. They gave me more lies and finally after calling the corporate office changed the price of mine to match my friends.

It only makes you wonder how many other people have been over charged without even knowing it. While I attended the facility I notice that the facilities were not cleaned on a regular basis. The locker room and machines were filthy. I never got anymore personal training as was promised when I signed up. I am constantly bothered by phone calls asking if I have any other friends to refer. The people both in the facility and on the phone are RUDE.

So I quit using the facility because of how disattisfied I was with the place. I contacted them and requested my money back or at least let me out of my contract. The lady told me I would have to write the corporate office and that they would only let me out of my contract for a serious medical condition. I wrote the corporate office and have had no response.

I finally returned to the place since I have been paying for the membership and not using it and I had lost my membership card. The manager would not let me in and said that I would have to pay $10 for a new card. A piece of paper laminated does not cost $10!!! I told her there was no way I was paying $10 for a replacement. She said that it was becuase anyone could come in saying they lost their card. I reminded her of the copy of my ID that they have on file and she tried to lie and say they didn't have it there. Which I know they have a copy and that would prove my identity.

There is nothing in the contract about charging for a membership card, and the manager, who was quite rude as well, just kept saying that it was policy to pay for a new card (even though these things were generic and I know they only cost probably 25 cents to make them) I told her to show me in writing this policy and she was like "I dont have it writing" and she refused to get her manager or the corporate office on the phone. Then after I repeated that I wanted to talk to her manager she told me to leave or she was going to call the cops.

I pay for a great deal of money for this membership and I was denied service when they had the means to prove my identity. There is no excuse for the uncleanliness, mistreatment, deception and RIP OFF that this company has been doing.
