Scam! Took fees for joining gym and then fraudulently tried to take money out of my bank account!

Freedom fitness is a huge scam! DO NOT sign a contract with them. My husband and I signed up and ended up not being able to go due to a multitude of family emergencies (I went to the gym for 30 min once and ONLY ONCE). We paid well OVER $100 just to join and agreed to $24 per month. After realizing that we weren't going to be able to attend the gym, I called Freedom Fitness to cancel and they told me that I had to make a written cancelation letter and send it to them! Fine... But then they told me that it took 30 days for them to acknowledge the written cancellation after recieving it!

This is the big part. I had been calling FREEDOM FITNESS every day to request compensation on my bill from them due to the fact that they had already taken over $100 for me to use their gym for only 30 min. After arguing with them about it and NEVER being allowed to talk to the owner/manager cause he REFUSED to take my call, they agreed to put a hold on my account until it was all figured out and sent me a check for $15 (what a slap in the f*g face after paying them so much to join and then them charging me and billing me up the a* for a gym I only attended once!).

THIS IS THE KICKER~ THEY FRAUDULENTLY ATTEMPTED TO WITHDRAWL MONEY FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT 3 TIMES WITHOUT MY CONSENT FOR 3 DIFFERENT AMOUNTS! Then they charged me their nsf fees for not being able to get the money out of the account even though it was unauthorized! The bank, on the other hand, couldn't go through with fraud charges due to the fact that FREEDOM FITNESS didn't actually take money out, they only attempted to (in a way, this makes me wish I had the money in my account for them to take out so I could press charges against freedom fitness).

But the bank was generous enough to retract all of their NSF fees that was aquired when FREEDOM FITNESS tried to take the money out.

Freedom fitness has now sent me to a collection agency for $80 even though they told me they would figure it all out and for me to not worry about it.

Freedom fitness is a scam artist and should be sued! Please do not join their gym.
