Mebane Clock Should Have Known Bette

Left my antique clock that my father gave me from Europe in 1965 for cleaning and to sync the chime. Westminster German Black Forest 1890-1910 clock. I left the clock on May27, and was told clock man could do complete restore for $140.00 dollars and it would be ready in about 2 weeks. I paid $80.00 deposit and left the clock. The clock was running when I took it in and the only thing wrong was the chime was out of sync.

I had not heard from clock man by July 31, so I called several times to inquire what might be going on. He doesn't have answering machine in his shed/workshop. After a couple tries I drove to his house to inquire. He said he was a little behind and should have it done is few weeks. I again said OK.

Fast forward to Oct. 5th, Again told it was not ready and he had ordered parts from Germany and he was waiting on them. This time I brough my son to hear what the clock man said and to witness in case I had to take him to small claims court. I still had not seen the clock since May. When I pressed him to provide a timeframe, he said it would be ready by December.

Move to Nov. 14, clock man called and said he had a refund for me and to come pick up the clock. I assumed he had not fixed the clock. Not only had he not fixed the clock, now it is broken! It does not run at all. I looked inside and he did nothing to it, had it 6 months and nothing.

On top of all this, he became belligerent with me and started cussing me saying I had talked to him badly back in November and he wasn't going to take it. Started yelling to get off his property, turned red in the face.

At this point, not sure what to do. I will cut my loses and hope one day a real clock person can fix the clock. Lesson learned. Beware!!!
