Nook replacement - Nook e-reade

Our Nook quit worker without cause when it was aprox 6months old. Talked with a friend who had the same issue w / her Nook. She had sent hers back and received a replacement Nook w/in a week w / no issues. The Nook had been given to my daughter as a gift & it had an extended warranty. We called Nook & were told to send it back & we would recieve a replacement w/in a 3-5days. After getting back from vacation there still was no Nook. We called again and after being on hold for 30-45 min we were told that the first information was wrong and that it would take 2-3weeks to receive another Nook. We waited and still no replacement. WE called again and again a long wait time on phone. We were given the run around again. Asked to talk w / supervisor. Told we would recieve new Nook& that they were unsure why there had been a hang up but it appeared to be w / the shipping dept. I wasn't offered compensation for the month process. Asked for an upgrade or a gift card at least. He said that he would ship us a $20 gift card within the week. No gift card and no nook arrived. Called again and talked to a different supervisor. She actually seemed to know what she was talking about and gave a tracking number and email address. Asked to speak to her superior just to follow-up. Told that is not possible that we would have to email. Told her about frustrations and no nook or gift card recived. We did eventually get the replacement nook but never received a gift card. We emailed higher-ups but didn't get responses or phone calls. Very dissapointed w / customer service!!! I don't expect things for free but I do expect the truth.
