My Mother paid cash for a computer from this store that ended up dead after a week. She brought it back to the store to have it fixed. A few days later they called her and told her it was ready. She picked it up, brought it home and it still wouldn't boot. I drove with her to drop it back off to RAC.

She was told they knew exactly what was wrong with it and would take care of it. When she came out of the store I asked her what was wrong with it and they didn't specifically tell her so I went in to find out. It turns out that they really don't know.in fact, it was discovered that they NEVER even looked at it the first time! I was told that I should appreciate the fact they admitted to me that they didn't look at it the first time. Now what kind of responsible company tells this to a consumer?

Now if I drop the ball and make a mistake, the right thing to do is to admit it and fix it, not tell the consumer it was fixed the first time and then on her second trip tell her that they know exactly what is wrong with it when the never even looked at it to begin with. I also pointed out that she never received the original CD's for the computer. They told me they would make sure she got them when she picked it up.

A few days later she got the call that her computer was ready. She told the salesman that she was there to get her computer and they asked her what kind of computer was it. Not being computer literate she said she didn't know. The salesman's curt response: "Well then how do you expect me to get it for you." What kind of customer service is this? Thankfully another salesman who remembered her was there and knew which computer it was and retrieved it for her. When she asked about the CD's that came with the computer the salesman rudely said he knew nothing about any CD's. Again, the second salesman came to the rescue and provided CD-R copies of the original CDs.

This is just one of a long list of horrible experiences with this place. They were originally Rainbow Rentals, and as Rainbow their service was top notch. As Rent A Center, the service has gone down the drain.

We cannot wait until our rental agreements are up with this company. They no longer accept checks and have removed their night drop box. And despite a PERFECT payment record we are now called every Saturday to remind us about making our payment.
