"Transit U.S.A., Inc." ripoff do not trust them to ship your tupperware

Shops, Products, Services

My husband's job relocated him to Massachusetts, so I had to find a moving company fast. I sent out e-mails and a representative from US-1 Vanlines called promptly. She was very helpful and persistent, so we decided to use the company to ship our belongings from Pembroke Pines, FL to Cumberland, RI.

They came to pick up our belongings on Saturday, October 2nd. Of course, we used more space in the truck than expected, so that was an additonal $375 above the estimated cost. Then the supervisor said that I needed more boxes because items that I thought could be placed on the truck was packaging had to be packed. For his services along with the crew, an additional $420.

We waited and waited and we did not here from anyone. So we called the dispaatcher to see where our delivery was. I called dispatch on the 11th. The dispatcher said that the driver should be calling me on today. I waited practically all day and no one had called. So I called back later that evening and asked the dispatcher should we wait or can we leave the house. Well, he was very rude. So my husband called back and spoke with the same person. The dispatcher asked my husband, "didn't your wife just call". By the end of their conversation, my husband knew where the truck was.

On October 12th, ten days later, we finally received our belongings. It was in horrible condition. We had just purchased our first bedroom suite less than a year ago. It is heavy and made of solid wood. Our armoire is seperated at the top and had a large scratch at the bottom. Our dresser is missing wood along the edges. Our mirror for our dresser is dented. The footboard to the bed is also missing wood. The list can go on but I think that my point is made, "do not let them ship your tuppereware".

On the 13th, I called the same representative and she connected my to the claims department. Of course, I got the infamous answering machine. This is ruining my day. The first time that I called was between the hours of 9 A.M. And 10 A.M. Around 2 P.M., I thought that I needed to call back because I had given the ample time to return my call. I called and got the answering machine. So I called the representative at her extension again, and whoever answered the phone hung it up as I began to explain my problems with contacting a person in claims. I called her back and got her answering machine. I left her a calm but detailed message.

At this point I had had enough. I looked for their website and typed a complaint to customer service. I called the claims department and finally got Alan, the gentleman that I had been calling all day. Then the reprensentative called apologizing saying that someone else had answered her phone. Then Alan called back again. Suddenly, everyone is attempting to be nice and returning calls.By now, it is too late because the damage has been done.

Please reader, do not use them for any services. Do not try to learn a lesson that has already been taught to you by another victim at their expense.
