US Bank $ 100, - Ace Hardware Credit card statement credit denied for bogus reason

Ace Hardware advertised a $ 100, - statement credit for new "Ace Hardware credit card applications". I asked the cashier at the store "What is the catch?" and she told me "there is no catch, you just have to apply for the card" then she gave me an application form.
