Mr. Ernesto Gallardo, President STOLE MY DIAMOND trying to replace with something but not mine

I have been wearing my Moms Diamond ring since she died over 14 years ago. I KNOW the ring very well, and the Jeweler is trying to give me something that may even be glass who knews?...

The stone fell out at home I was in a paint job and I may have banged it... I took it to Ernestos Jewelry on west 86th Street Broadway. My brother had used him before and recommended him I looked at Yelp and it seemed fine. I did not know till now that yelp has a tricky way to find all bad review now I know and have printed it out. But yelp only shows good review. And it seems that when I found the bad reviews they were al about serious Jewelry...

I brought in my ring to be reset to Ernestos, he was not in and Rita took care of me because of the recommendation I stupidly relaxed and totally trusted them sadly now I know I should have taken photos, and been far more vigilant. They are trying to deliver what was never mine, and inferior to what was given to them.

While she was looking at my setting I asked Rita Ernestos niece to show me the copy of a Tiffany setting ring that was in their showcase and I tried it on... This was smaller diamond and did not sparkle like mine.inferior for sure...

Rita was to give me an estimate on resetting and if not possible then what a tiffany style setting would be... She was to call me with an estimate, she would call me with a few prices. She called the next day with prices. She told me that to just reset it would not be secure. Ant that cost would be $125.00. But to reshape the top would be a better fit for the setting and tat price would be $225.00 butfor $425. They can do the tiffany copy.

I came in with my brother a couple of days later the store was busy I selected that they just redo the top so it be secure, at $225.00 signed off on doing the work, still trusting them AGAIN I was not vigilant.

This was on a Friday late afternoons. The following morning I got a call that my ring was done. I said it is not possible, and a red flag came up immediately so I went to see. I came in and they tried to pawn off on me the inferior tiffany copy ring which I had tried on several days before, even the band of the ring was thinner and obviously not a quality ring.
I knew I was in trouble, but was told Ernesto will be in the following week. So I had to wait... When Ernesto came in the following week he told me I need to bring papers This was not a good sign, I knew he was up to no good... But he got nervous that I knew my ring so well.

The following week he offered me another ring claiming it is mine. If he was honest asking me for papers would not be his instant reply. Nor switching rings would be a way to do business... Since I am still unpacking from a paint job, I still have not found any papers, and it may take time to locate. I tried to call him this week, was told he wont be back for a week. I dont want their ring I want my mother stone back.

I have a receipt. WISH I had not trusted so much I would have never accepted that receipt because now that I read it, I can see they planed to do the wrong thing from the start.

I have earrings from the same set as the ring a 3 piece set - The Diamonds were same cut and caliber, the earring diamonds smaller then the diamond in the ring... The ring was white gold and the earrings were yellow gold. Same set, same design bought in the same store at the same time.

What they are trying to pawn off on me is not my ring, I dont even know if it is a diamond. I do not want anyone else to fall into their way of doing business. I will find paper work, and I think maybe a photo too. And I will sue him. They are really bad people and the bad reviews on them should be visible to the public and not filtered by any web site that is misleading too.
