Dishnetwork Equipment Return Fee - A Big Rip-Off

When I got Dishnetwork in I was told I was getting the equipment FREE if I lock on to a 2-Year Contract.in June (after 6 years of being a Dishnetwork Loyal customer), I closed my Dishnetwork Account because I sold my home in the mountains. I sold my house furnished and left everything, including the Dish set-top box - since the buyer said they will go with Dishnetwork as well. When i called Dishnetwork, I was told the equipment was not free and I have to return it. I said I was not going to climb up to get the Dish on the roof and I was leaving the receiver with the new owner of the house. Then, customer service said they would have to charge me $100 for not returning the equipment. I said - Ok, if I have to drive 8 hours to get their equipment, I would also be spending about $80 in gas. To my surprise, today (Aug. 21), I just got a bill that says I need to pay them $318. I was shocked. After calling them and talking to customer service, they quoted me $100 and then they charged me $318. I called them back and talk to a supervisor who I said - Hey, the last time I talked to you, you quoted me a $100 for the equipment, and now you're charging me $318. They said the were willing to take off $100 and charge me only $218. That's the best they could do. I was thinking about going back to Dishnetwork when I get to purchase another property - but now no more, they are a bunch of liars and overcharge for their services.in their bill, they put an "ad" saying they were willing to do anything to get me back as a customer, but want to overcharge me. How unreal is that? This has got to be the worst and dishonest customer service ever.
