I recently purchased silver (the ad did not say sterling) cufflinks through a seller on etsy.com. When they arrived, the cufflinks were made of plastic dipped in silver paint that was already peeling off. I live in the US and the seller was in Canada, so in order for me to return the "mis-advertised" product, I wanted the seller to pay for some kind of delivery that could be tracked.instead, she went to the etsy feedback section and wrote that I was crazy and had lied about the material the cufflinks were made of and that all other sellers should beware of selling to me.interestingly, PayPal looked at all the facts and ruled that I was in the right and made the refund over the seller's objection. The US Post Office accepted the claim and is investigating for mail fraud. However, etsy.com refuses to remove the untrue and insulting feedback unless the seller authorizes them to do so. If you value your reputation, before buying from an etsy.com seller, you need to look very carefully at the fine print in etsy's policies.
