QUEST (AKA QWORST) rips off Single Mother. New name, same shitty service

Hello,
As a single mother, I have waited a long time to buy my 15 year old son a computer for Christmas. This Christmas, with some of the better financing deals available, I was able to by my son a brand new computer. Needless to say, Christmas morning, he was delighted to see his new computer. The first thing he did was run in his room and set it up. He also set up his internet service through AOL. We live in Maple Valley Washington, in the 425 area code. When he set the dial-in number up, he chose a number from Bellevue Washington, 10-15 miles away. The AOL dial in number he set up was 425.223.4265. Qwest (Qworst) has added tons of new local charges and area codes. They will nickel and dime customers any way possible (including local long distance). When I got my december phone bill, I was faced with over $500.00 in local long distance charges. When I called Quest (Qworst) I spoke with a representative by the Name of Randall. He said there was nothing Qwest (Qworst) could do, and suggested my 15 year old "get a job" to pay the bill.

Appalled, I waited a few days and called back. Quest once again told me they would not reverse the charges and they would simply send the account to collections if left unpaid. I politely reminded the Customer Service Rep that I had been a customer sine 1972 (30 Years) with a steady payment history, she again stated there was nothing she could do. When I asked her for someone who could help me, she responded with "no one here can help you". She then suggested I call AOL to dispute the charge. I politely reminded her the bill was from Qwest (Qworst) and not AOL. Needless to say there was a long pause.

I am surprised that any company as bad as Qwest, one that lacks Customer service, and treats their customers terribly can remain in Business. If Qwest (Qworst) had any remote form of local landline competition they would go out of business immediately. I beg you and your friends to do as little business with this terrible company. USE YOUR CELL PHONES!!!

Screw Quest - I'm going to get Broadband cable for my internet service and cancel the land line service with Quest (Qworst). I'll use my cell phone for calls from home.
