Inconpetent, rude, lazy, careless, late office manager has the personality of a rabid banshee Internet

We hired this company for a short move across town. Never have I had such an awful experience with a moving company. First of all, their estimate was around $2,100., but their final bill came close to $3,000. We contracted for 3 men, and the morning of our move, 4 arrived (each man costs extra). They arrived about 10:40 -way late! They loaded up our stuff, and the plan was to arrive the next day to unload it at our new address, approximately 7 miles away. The next day, they arrived late again, and demanded that I leave my valuables alone in order to go to my bank and get them a cashier's check. When I asked why they ouldn't accept a personal check, they said "because some people stop payment after we leave." Gee, I certainly know why that would happen! They wouldn't unload the truck until I got them the money from the bank. When I called their office mgr., Meghan, to complain, she screamed like a rabid banshee, very insulting, abusive and intimidating. I have never encountered such a horrendous experience dealing with a so-called business person in my life. When I told her I was going to submit a review of their business, she threatened to sue me for slander. Hey... I guess she didn't know that the correct term for the written word is libel. Duh... I will not be threatened by bullies.

Anyhow, as for the movers, it was a different crew who showed up to unload my stuff. They were s-l-o-w-w-w-... They stacked boxes marked "Fragile" 5 or 6 boxes deep, so we had some crushed glassware. They put a scratch in a 260-year-old table. They damaged a clock. They killed my plant. They put a nick in my desk. They dragged a couch across the newly refinished hardwood floors, and left a 10" scratch, then tried to fix it with a stain pen, so now I have a 10" dark line in my floor. It looks like someone drew a line with a magic marker. I found the crew chief taking a break, sitting on top of my fragile antique chest. WTF??? To top it off, they went past 3:30 (hey -they arrived really late, so...) then they demanded $240 more dollars. It is my opinion that there is something really shady going on with this business. I would not wish them on my worst enemy. It is, in my opinion, the most vile ripoff I have encountered. I was mugged once, and it wasn't as bad. I am probably going to have to get my lawyer involved just to make a claim. Luckily, I took out insurance, but God knows what will happen next with that. Don't hire them!!!
