Rip off % manufactures defect % beware

In August I purchased a NEW 115 hp 4 stroke outboard motor for one of my Charter Boats. The Oil Pump failed the following August. At that time the motor had 345 hours on it. A new power head and oil pump was put on the boat my my local Mercury dealer under warranty. This April the Oil Pump failed again. This time Mercury says out of warranty, too bad. I feel this is a manufacture defect because the replacement oil pump failed after 341 hours of use. It seems that after every 340 hrs of use the oil pump fails. I do not believe in coincidences.
