Dishonest Overcharging

I took my van into NTB in Texas where I live to have the water pump replaced, along with the tension pully, which they discovered after the original estimate. I agreed it needed to be done and let them do it.

I was happy that it was done in the same day, - and the company was very polite to me, however, when looking at the water pump, I realized that it had not been replaced at all, - just "rebuilt" while still on my van.

They did not replace the water pump, only he inside of the pump, which meant that they didn't change the gasket, which is part of a water pump replacement, yet they still charged me for a water pump replacement.

I also noticed, that I had been grossly overcharged on parts.

After leaving NTB, I took my van to my regular mechanic for some other maintenance work, (I was afraid to drive it too far due to the water pump, so had opted to let them do that part) and he showed me where the gasket at the water pump was leaking coolant.

I am not at all happy with the service I received from NTB. I feel as though they were very dishonest in taking my money, and not doing what they were supposed to do on the replacement of my pump. Checking with all other mechanics, the gasket is part of the water pump replacement, and they failed to do that. They took the easy path and chose to charge me as if they had done the full job.

This experience has definitely changed the way I feel about NTB and I don't feel comfortable recommending them to anyone I know.
