A & A protection services Rip off, shady, unfair, liars

Watch out for this company, from the minute I was hired things were shady. I filled out a W-4 form and they tried to put me as a 1099 (independent contractor) which I don't qualify for. When I called to rectify this this, I was told It's better for me because no taxes are are taken out though they didn't say anything about having to pay my own taxes at the end of the year. I did eventually get that straightened out but I found out from other guards that they still do that with new hires who also don't qualify.

I was also told when I first started several times that they don't pay overtime but I know that California state law says they have to. I did get that straightened out too but every time I had over time coming to me my check was wrong and I had to fight to get that straightened out. Again I hear from new hires that sometimes the claim of no paid overtime gets said.

Another big thing is that I paid out over time a $300 dollar uniform deposit and the uniforms are flimsy and cheap material not worth anywhere near that.

The only reason I worked with this company is because they under cut the company i previously worked for and the post client asked me to stay and switch. I was told by A & A protective services (that was the name at that time) that everything I had with my previous company I'd have with them which was a lie. I lost my direct deposit, paid sick and vacation days and benefits which they don't offer.

My advice is don't work for these guys who now go by the name of Universal Protective Services Inc and don't hire them.
