Ripoff keeps retainer and all work performed but quits case

This lawyer took a case for me about the May timeframe. After paying a $750 retainer, she told me that she was dropping the case and would return the unused funds. Since the total physical output to me or my case was absolutely nothing, I expect to be refunded nearly $750 minus a few phone calls. I received a check for $75, and no itemization of where the money went - surprise!

I called and questioned her about this. She said she would not give me her "work product" - all the actual work she had done on the case. I said ok, that's fine, then just return me my money. She would not. There was nothing either party signed at any point where she indicated she would keep everything if she quit.

I am currently suing in small claims, but since she is a lawyer, I have my doubts about the outcome of the case, hence I am using this forum to warn all others of this lawyer.
