Jake, Current Regional Manager Was harrassed by regional manager in front of many employees and customers. Extremely unproffessional management

I am currently an employee at Jimmy Johns in Morgantown, West Virginia. I have been working there a little less than a month as an in-shop worker. When I first started working here it came to my attention that there were many minor rules in which could lead to you getting fired or yelled.

Very minor things such as not using a scooper when you put mayo on the bread, or after the first week if you can't name all the sandwiches, or if your not clean shaven, the list goes on and on. All of which you could be fired for on the spot. Think about your at work trying to do your job and something so simple could lead you to being fired.

Recently I was taking an order on the phone for a customer, just normal procedure on a normal day at work. The customer asked me how long the order would take to get there and because we were backed up with deliverys that day, and I mean backed up enough were 6 drivers each had to deliver several orders at once. I told the customer that it would be roughly a half hour or more because she asked. When someone calls for an order and asks how long it will take would you rather have the person give you a rough estimate, or just say I don't know? Obviously telling them a rough estimate is better. Which is exactly what I did.

However, our regional manager was in today. He stops in every once in a while, in which case everyone know about it because of how he treat his employees. Hes the kind of manager that you everyone hates. All I ever heard while working there is when JAKE comes in shop you better watch yourself because he likes firing people. He is also very aggressive, and quite frankly hes a complete jerk-off. He rages out at times and curses in front of employees and customers.

After the order I took (where I told the customer it would take a half-hour) Jake came storming in asking who told the customer on the phone how long her order would take. So i told him it was me and what was the problem. And he replied that I should never tell a customer how long it would take for her food to get there, ever. I didn't realize that would be a problem, by telling her a half hour.in fact, the food got there faster than a half hour.

However, instead of just telling me Hey don't do that again. Jake decided to start screaming at me very aggressively telling me I had a bad attitude, and completely blew the entire situation out of proportion. I held my tongue, and said little, and when I tried to get back to work, he took me in the back and yelled at me again. Now hes the manager, and I never in my life had such a disrespectful, ignorant manager as him. He told me to go home because of my attitude, and because I made a simple mistake by telling a customer. Jimmy Johns should be ashamed to have such terrible management and such a terrible person in charge of other co-workers. If he freaks out over such a minor thing like this imagine what hes like when its a real situation. I find it completely unprofessional to be treated this way as an employee at Jimmy Johns. Jake shouldn't be a manager if this is how he conducts business on a daily basis.

If anyone thinks about applying to Jimmy Johns, just remember that there are managers like Jake you could be working for and honestly its not worth it.
