Ripoff Lies to Employees, Unlawful Terminations, Minimum Wage

North State Security, Inc. Motto is, "An Ounce of Prevention"... Well, the best ounce of prevention you can use is NOT HIRING THEM and NOT WORKING FOR THEM. Their ad in the Yellow Pages boasts 36 years in the Private Security Industry with "Over 150 officers to serve you!" OK, this number hasn't changed in like, 15 years!

Furthermore, they are CONSTANTLY advertising in the local newspaper for officers. Why the high turnover? Simple, they treat their employees like GARBAGE! On average they make $18-$20 per hour per contract and they pay their employees MINIMUM WAGE! (A prime example of this are the Armed Officers at the Redding Airport. Imagine it, working armed, risking your butt for $6.75/hr so the bigwigs can get rich off you and wine and dine their friends within the City Heirarchy - Don't believe it?

Ask then why every other security contract the City puts out is done by lowest bidder, but the ones for City Hall, Redding Airport, RABA, City Transfer Facility, Kids Kingdom, etc. Are done on a percentage system. Long as your at it, ask SHASCOM when North State officers call, they get dispatched as "North State Security reporting" but when any other company calls, its, "RP is Security reporting...")

Their two ranking supervisors, are well known for driving around all night just looking for a reason to fire officers, particulary those who have a brain and pose a threat to the status quo within the company (IE: Their Jobs!). I know people who have gotten fired because their ride home showed up 5 minutes prior to their shift ending! They expect officers to drive 30 miles one way to a work site, pay them MINIMUM WAGE and don't pay for mileage or start their wage when they leave! Illegal? Damn Right it is!

Do yourself a favor... If you are looking for Security Services in Redding, go ANYWHERE BUT North State! Go to a company that actually treats their officers with RESPECT!
