I've been billed, harassed, and sent to collection for a book I never ordered and do not have

I have been billed & harassed for the past 9 months now, as well as having been sent to collection, over a book I DID NOT ORDER, DO NOT WANT, AND DO NOT HAVE.

I've had issues in the past with companies sending me books to "try before you buy". I simply write on the package "RETURN TO SENDER" and mail it back to them. I don't open the package, because then I am expected to pay for shipping charges when mailing it back (which is ridiculous, when I haven't ordered it in the first place.) Normally, when I send back a book auto-shipped to me, there are no problems that follow. THIS HAS NOT BEEN THE CASE WITH BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS.

I have no way to prove that I do not have the book, other than my word. But, IF INDEED, they DID ship it to me, then it would have been sent back as "Return to Sender", like I always do. I have no recollection of the book, itself, because I didn't order it, nor did I open the box. If it was sent to me (bear in mind, it would have been without my consent), then it was shipped back to them "RETURN TO SENDER"... Period. I do not open or keep packages I did not order. PERIOD.

I have explained this to them in written form - yet, they still continue to come after me for payment. I refuse to pay for something I never ordered and do not have in my possession. There should be laws against this kind of practice by companies! I never signed up for or agreed to any type of "auto-shipments" by them, so I should not be receiving them, nor should I be responsible for them.

I know I have bought books in the past from them (YEARS AGO), but that should not subject me to unwarranted, continued shipments over the years. This is an unlawful practice that should be banned!!!
