Dunkin Donuts
Throws Away Debit Cards

I went to my local dunkin donuts, which I visit up to 7 times a week. It is the DD in Holden at 5 Shrewsbury Street. They took my debit card and swiped it and I apparently did not have enough to cover a coffee and an energy drink. I was able to pay for the energy drink with the debit card. While I was looking thru my pockets for change for the coffee, my server Sandra took my debit card and walked acrossed the store and threw it into the garage near the drive thru window. Not realizing that she did not give it back, I paid for my coffee with change and walked away. When I got home I realized I didn't have my debit card. I immediately called the store and they said they did not have it nor was it there policy to throw away cards. She said she would go look and would call me back if they found it.in the meantime I had my daughter waiting by the phone incase they called. I proceeded to drive back to the store. When I arrived I saw 4 employees going through a trash can and low and behold one of them came up with my debit card. They were laughing and giggling about it. I interrupted their laughter stating that there is nothing funny about throwing away someones debit card, they could have tied up my money for more than 3 weeks while I would have had to wait for a replacement. Imagine having not one cent for 3 weeks, unable to pay rent or anything buy food etc. They all thought it was a big joke. So I called in a complaint to the franchise and the woman who called me back was the woman I saw retreiving my card from the trash. She insisted it was never in the trash, she did not even offer an explaination nor an apology for this complete lack of almost screwing up my life. The woman told me if I called to file another complaint that I would only get her again. She refused to apologize or offer up anything for her and her employees lack of respect for the customer and the problems she had caused me. I said give me something like a few free coffees, she said it is not worth it nor is it company policy to please the cusomter after they had been screwed by their lack of compentency. I would never use this Dunkin Donuts ever again. If I didn't hate the taste of Starbuck I would go there. So DD has you stuck between crappy service and a rock. Holden DD sucks and does not care about their customers. Also this manager was so rude she refused to give me her name and hung up on me.
