Rentkwik.com Home Exchange: My experience and general opinion is less than expected from ads

This is a simple statement of my opinion and of my own experience to date and is not to be construed as advice of any kind, legal, financial, moral, or ethical. It's my opinion only!

Rentkwik is a simple site that has provided me with a very basic search engine for their rental listings in the Omaha, Lincoln, Council Bluffs and surrounding areas. That being said, to date I have experienced listings that were already rented yet continued to be posted long after contacting landlord, listings that were just voice mailboxes with no response or reply by the numbers contacted over a period of weeks, some postings the individual contacted me about not having the listing I inquired about, but a rent to own or for sale by owner in another location, and finally "Rentkwiks" own advanced search engine would reset without the criteria I entered back to the default information thus not refining the search as I had intended. A bit frustrating at the very least.

In regard to their advertising, I emailed their contact address and informed them that they advertised on "Craigs List" a property that was rented and that it should be removed. Since I have horses I was under the impression that several rentals that accepted horses were still available and then when I contacted them by phone they stated it was rented and no longer available but still listed on "Craigs List".

So poof there goes $65 dollars for 4 months and still some of the same properties on "Craigs List" but not everyone returning calls or they are not removed within a reasonable time frame. Reasonable being relative and a matter of opinion and in defense of Home Exchange they do not always receive prompt calls from Landlords regarding properties being rented.in my opinion a little more action or due diligence on their part to insure valid listings would help.in addition, not posting listings with just a phone number would help as well, as these number only ads cause one to make calls to Home Exchange instead of an actual private party listing a rental and unnecessary efforts to acquire a rental.

In conclusion I find there are plenty of free options out there to assist in anyone in looking for a place to call home and sometimes getting out of the house and visiting neighborhoods can prove to reduce your effort and energy in your search. I hope this has been of some assistance to you and a final note as of Today January 14 the Better Business Bureau has a rating that helped me decide to explore all options and save my hard earned dollars for a nice road trip!
