H & N Relocation Consultant ripoff They came late, then they cancelled and left!

I scheduled 1 month in advance the move of my 1 bed apt, for 9am 5/28/04.

The contact (Rosy) and I scheduled 2 men to move my 11th floor apt. (full freight elevator access), without large appliances (no fridge, stove, etc). Rosy said it should be do-able in approximately 5 hrs w / 2 men.

I faxed back their form to confirm, and spoke on phone about a week later. They had all my contact info & email. All was confirmd.

At 4:30pm 5/27/04 (16 hrs before the move), they called & rescheduled my 9am to 2pm, faulting me because they "tried to reach me for 2 days to confirm" (untrue-they had all my info, left no msgs on voicemail, work or email; we had also already confirmed via phone/email weeks before).

Moving day, the two movers arrived at 5pm in a rented Budget truck (3 hrs late of the rescheduled 2pm), looked around my apartment, said "too much stuff, too late, we can't do this job" and left us sitting on the floor among our boxes & furniture, with no readily avail. Phone service, food, or clothes.

I contacted the manager (Shawn), after several calls back & forth, he first said they left because of a broken elevator (it was working-we stood inside of it together). Then he said they left because it was too late to move.

He then said he could maybe send 3-4 men the next day, it would take 7-8 hrs. I said that Rosy and I spoke about 2 men, 5 hrs. He said "she doesn't know what shes talking about." This amounts to basically triple the amount of what it would have costed.

We ended up moving everything with two small pickup trucks and our compact cars. I had to pay 3 friends, and it took us 2 days.
