Emerald Place Apartments
Do not rent here. Broken fridge, wasted food and no fix

My family rents at this particular apt building.
My first complaint is of the appliances in the apartment.
The refrigerator has went out twice, leaving the family without food and a waste of over $100 in food that was in the fridge that went out.
Instead of fixing the issue, they defrosted the fridge and told us it was fine, hence the "went out twice".
It is still not working and they have not replaced the fridge.
Also we have a family emergency where a family member of ours cannot live alone due to it being a safety issue for her to be by herself.
We refuse to put her into a nursing home.
In the landlord tenant law it states that if a family emergency occurs a renter is allowed to get out of the lease without any penalties.
Emerald Place is REFUSING to let us out of the lease stating that we would still be responsible for the remainder of our contract.
Even though they have broken it due to the unfixed refrigerator.
We have been without a working refrigeration for 3 months now.
