Catalyst In Store Solutions
Catalyst corporate pyramid entry level marketing scam - lies and unethical

Shops, Products, Services

I went for a job interview and not only are they a pyramid scheme, they flat out lie about it and are sketchy and decietful about it. First of all the Oaks building is not there building, they rent it and about 7 other company's are in that space as well. You wait and realize that three or four other people are scheduled for an interview at the same time. There is "THREE" interviews they say. The first is down the hall in a very vacant and clearly rented office unit. The recruiter tells you about Vizio and Direct TV and how they just landed these accounts and in desperate need of managers. I have an MBA and he pretended to say that he will call me after all the interviews were complete.

After five minutes of telling me about the product, company and how it works (which I asked about salary and was dodged as well as what the promotion was based on, which was they only promote from within and other BS that curtails the need for the number in sales!) I was told the process consists of a second interview in the office and from there, going to a store and checking out the "office." As he walked me to the elevator, he said how confident he was in me and "lets skip the formality and call, come in tom at 11:45."

At the second interview I noticed that the other candidates from the previous day were there. WOW, i must be special! Then he calls you out to the hall and introduces you to your account manager who will "show you the ropes." I then learn I will be following him to the store and basically helping him sell. You even have to sign a document stating you are not to get paid for the day. I was not told about this at all and furthermore I learned I would be driving "right across the bridge to Illinois!"

Also, I had to follow this clown to get gas and drop of another "employee" at best buy. Both of these individuals had been employed there less than 4 months (and one was supposidly a top rep!) At the gas station, I ask if this is a pyramid company and what promo are based on and if he gets bonuses or incentives if I take the job. He said he'd get into it later as we get into it. I was told you get a base salary, come to find out it comes out to about $9 without taxes an hour.

I convince myself to just see what it is about. However, after an hour drive and 40 miles later, we arrive at Sam's club. At this point I am livid and decide regardless, I do not want to work for a company that is so deceiving and full of it. Oh, and I was told when being assigned to my Account Manager that the third and final interview had to be done over the phone and he apologized for the sudden change. I'm guessing that they couldn't afford to rent to office space for an entire day!

The job is not lucrative and based on that face-to-face, pesky sales. Walk through a Sam's Club or Best Buy and see for yourself before you waste your time! I am mortified by the lies and behavior of this organization. I was dragged out to the middle of nowhere, just moved to the area and not told anything. It was one of the most rude and unethical business approaches I have EVER encountered! Direct TV, VIZIO and any other company associated with this "marketing" company should be ashamed.
