'Planet Van Lines' Scam Artists/Thieves

My husband and I were planning a move for the end of November from Va to Ca. We contacted multiple moving companies, with Golden Van Lines being the most competitive prices. We gave the deposit of 250.00$ as requested [which was taken out under the name 'Planet Van Lines'] and were told we would receive a refund should we cancel before 48 hours of our scheduled move date. On November 7th we cancelled our need for the movers, choosing to stay in the area instead. We were told we would receive our refund within 2-3 business days.

After 4 days of not receiving our refund, we called back and were told that there was tie-up in paperwork, but we should receive it, again, in 2-3 days. We waited 3 days before calling back again in regards to still having not received the refund and were told we would have to speak to the manager, who conveniently is never in the office.

After 2 weeks, we called again and were told that the system was down, we'd have to call back the following day. We did, and were once again told we'd have to speak to the manager. We called again the following day, and surprise, surprise, the manager isn't in. We then filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and expressed our frustrations to the secretary "Jennifer", once again. We also asked for the Managers name in case we had to take our case to small claims court. She refused to give it to us, telling us only that the manager's name was "Cindy". It's now been a month and we still have yet to receive our refund. We've virtually paid them for services we didn't even use.

I would not recommend this company to ANYONE. We are still trying to fight them for our refund, wondering what kind of excuse they will think of next.
