Phone Bill Reached $500 and Sent to Five Collection Agencies

I had my own home phone line through Verizon, that to me was a complete disaster! I got the number and it was no longer in use and I kept on getting people calling me asking for a "John"! They called at all hours of the night. I was also getting charges that I did not even add to the line (long distance etc). My Bill reached $500.00 and thats when Verizon shut it off. They sent me monthly bills and my family paid some of the bill the rest has been a nightmare. They have sent my account to multiple collection agencies for various amounts. For every different amount it was a new space on my credit report! And it drove my credit score right down to ZERO!

To this day it still remains "unpaid" on my credit report.
I have one final amount from the 5th collection agency they have used to collect the whole debt. Every time I have tried to call to clear up this matter, They NEVER give me the answer I am looking for. They push me around like a leaf blowing in the wind carelessly and they are NEVER POLITE to me (even though I am polite to them)! I am unsure if this will be the end..
