Lookup Ltd
Stated that I could get a free auto history, then requested a $1.00 fee, whcih in the fine print resulted in a near $19 monthly billing due to my not canceling the account that I inadvertently created

I went on the web to research the history of a car i was considering to buy. I found an offer for a free search. Then later i find that there is a $1.00 fee, which i thought reasonable. When i received my credit card bill, there was both the $1.00 fee plus a $18.95 billing. I researched the web and found others had been scammed on this and that the $18.95 was a bill that would be charged monthly unless you canceled. This type of bait and switch is very deceptive and one must read the extensive fine print to learn that the free service (actually $1.00) is for only 5 days and unless you cancel within the 5 days you will get charged$18.95 and $18.95 for every month thereafter until you cancel.
If this is a indication of the ethics of lookup ltd which they have lure customers with a free trial, then a small fee and then in fine print hook these people on a monthly billing
if they do not read all the fine print after the laborious journey through their website, then i wish never to again to have anything to do with them.
