"Trabaje en casa" Ripped me off, I sent $90 and did not get the work I was supposed to

This "company" had their ad in a spanish newspaper called Impacto, from San Diego, CA. My mom contacted them because she really wanted to work at home, since she's sick. A certain Adolfo told her she needed to send a check of $90 to their address and the supplies would be sent at our home. Before anything, she clearly let them know her situation and that she was in no need to be ripped off and that those $90 were a great effort from our family, specially my dad who know has two jobs since my mom can't work.
We waited for their products for at leat 1 month. Thoughout that month, we would call various times to that certain Adolfo, but he would not answer or explain what we were supposed to do. Until one day, a certain woman with a cuban accent answered and explained that once we received our supplies along with a DVD we had to follow the DVD instructions and send the things back. For $90 we were expecting a pretty big box, but we got a mistreated brown envelope with 4 masks, feathers, 1 piece of ribbon, glitter, and the DVD.
My mother called back in rage, but the same woman told her to do what the dvd said; which was decorate the masks with the glitter, feathers, and ribbons. And so we did. We sent the work, and got it back with more masks and feathers and glitter. This is not what we were told to do by this Adolfo, whom never again appeared. We want our money back and this "company" sued.
Oh, and to add on, they have a different number on a different newspaper called El Latino, the number is 732-414-8476. My mom recognized the woman's voice, and when my mom told the woman who she was, she hung up on my mom; so they're aware that they're ripping people off. Something must be done!!
