False Promises of Trial Period

Received sales literature on Dish Network and figured that we would give it a try.
I had some concern since friends had reported experiences of problems, mostly poor picture and
service outages.
My wife called their sales department in Colorado. Not a problem she was told. All of those problems
are things of the past. Besides, she was told, there is a 30 day trial period where the service can be
canceled if it isn't satisfactory. After that time, there would be a two year commitment with a $20 per remaining month cancellation fee.
The installation technician came out and spent several hours installing equipment. After that time, he asked for a signature on the contract. Suddenly, THERE IS NO 30 DAY TRIAL PERIOD!
Turns out that this is a big bait and switch. They promise an evaluation and figure that people are going to sign anyway when it doesn't exist at contract signing because they blew a whole day on the installation.

I recommend everyone be smart and do what we did. Don't sign the contract and tell them to take it out.
Of course we got lots of calls from DishNetwork saying that they never had an evaluation period and that they would "retrain" their sales people about this. Sure right.
