Ripoff, Fraud, Misleading Advertising, Deceptive Practices and Denial of Services

After comparing similar products online I purchased the Grants package #5 expedited grant service from Capital Publications (aka Government Publication's). I decided to purchase their package for the following reasons (as stated on their website).

We do all the work for you! Government Publications Grant Team will process 7 grants and send them to you via priority mail for your personal info, area of interest, amount and signature. Grants can be used for home repair, home purchase, Education, Business, Medical, Rent, Utilities the Disabled and Special Needs.indicate the amount sought, the area you live in and purpose for grants. Grant Team will do the rest!
And...
"Free Incorporation!
Added Bonus: We incorporate your business free of charge".

I had some questions about the service so I called (1-800-574-1953). I spoke with Charlene Parker who assured me that I would get everything stated on the website and even elaborated further on some of the services offered. Based on her assurances I placed the order for $89.95 plus $25.00 FedEx.

When the package arrived (within 48 hrs) I wondered how they could possible have provided the stated service and deliver the packages in so short a time. I wasn't surprised to find only general information in the package and assumed that the 7 processed grants and Free Incorporation service would come under separate cover.

Six days later I called to inquire and again spoke with Charlene Parker. This time when I asked her questions about the service she stated that she really doesn't know what the service is or what I should expect to receive and said I only read what they gave me on this sheet I don't what the service is.

She seemed very uncomfortable with my questions so asked for contact information to pass along to Customer Services. When I pressed for a name and number so I could get my questions answered I was given the name of Charles Goss (202-331-4477 and asked to email the details of my complaint and that he would get back to me within a day or two. Of course he didn't, in fact, I never heard back from anyone in spite of my multiple calls.

This is an outright scam and this company is misleading the public. They have no intention of providing any service whatsoever and once they have your money they will try to avoid all contact. My advice to anyone considering a purchase from this company is to go elsewhere. Your public library is a more valuable source of information and you won't get Ripped-Off.
