Dave Hymes is not worth the money, you may as well go unrepresented!

Daves Hymes was our agent, he did the most aweful job! The truth is we would have been better off if we had represented ourselves. He tried to get me to use all of his contacts for the septic inspection and the whole house inspection we got our own people with the exception of the septic inspector. He made me feel bad about not using his people. He showed us two properties and we made an offer on the second property that day.

Everything went fine with the exception of him not being able to let us in to the workshop on our property but he said he would get the key from the listing agent and show us in a few weeks before we closed. The next time I saw mr. Hypes was on the day of the inspections and it had snowed. My Hymes office was in placerville and the got a few inches of snow after a six hour drive he calls to say that he doesn't think that he can make it because there are a few inches of snow.

I explain that there are three companies comming to do the inspections and he is the only person that can let us in the property was vacant. The house had to close in the next 12 days or the banker said the deal was off the table. He knew all of this and the date had been set for weeks. We argued and agreed to drive up but he was not happy about it. The long story short we never got into the lower work shop. The work shop had writing on the wall from the building inspector that said to cut out the drywall fix items on the correction notice and call him for an inspection it is my belief that Mr. Hymes knew all of this.

The propane tank that he said was full, was empty and the wood burning stove was gone as was the spa and the smoke dectors and the faucets. Mr. Hymes had a standard form from remax that asks about the condition of the home he handed it to us at title and it stated that the home was in the same condition as it was when we made the offer. He had signed it and we took him on his word as it would be fraud from him to write that and sign it if it were not true. After it was all over I called him to tell him that what the condition of the home was in he said "what do you want me to do about it"

Once he got his commission he was done with us. We just found out that El dorado county will require us to re-permit and fix everything on the recall notice or level the building. Mr Hymes could care less. He could not be bothered to give us our keys we had to get them out of the planter at his place of bussiness and he refused to remove the lock box off of the front door we had to remove the door knob assembly in order to remove it.
