These people are a complete scam. Do not use them. Do not bother "checking" their DOT number, it is a valid number. So was the one they used under the name Mayflower, not the same mayflower you may recognize, they stole the name and do not operate under it anymore because of all the complaints listed under that name. These people took everything I own in a cross country move, extorted me for more and more money every week "if I ever wanted to see my things again." You may think you have done your research, verified all information, but the beauracracies are worthless. You can attempt to get help from the FBI, but that is limited if you are small time to them. BBB, forget it. Although, call the CA BBB and check under those names. That is the actual state they are in and operating under but CANNOT move people within that state because they are legally not allowed to anymore.
If you do not believe these reports, or think you've hired a different company, do the smart thing I regretted and put a GPS in your shipment at the least. These people are not legal citizens, the Seattle address is a phony address, they are not calling/emailing from within the country even is my understanding. If you use 123 movers dot com, you will get a lot of emails with different names attached to the front of the company name as an address. NOTE: These are all the same people!
So no matter which company you bargain with and decide to go with, your screwed.
