Our experience with WMG was not a good one. While we were successful in obtaining a GSA contract vehicle the process was disquieting and at times ponderous. We were never able to obtain a single electronic copy of our proposal package - it was assembled by WMG much like a scrapbook. Hard copy only. Our consultant actually told us not to worry about "Professional Polish" on our submittal because that didn't matter - it just needed to be "good enough"! The production value of our proposal was AWFUL - in the end it got us an award but it does not reflect our company well and is of little use for future proposals.

Our consultant (Robert Van Gorder) was not as responsive as we would have liked or thought given the $13K investment we made in him. There were times that it took too long to hear back from him - then when we did hear back his answers to our questions were often difficult to interpret and put into actionable perspective. He talked a lot - said little.

The cost of the consulting service was expensive. We paid 12months of service at $1600 per month even for months WHEN NO SUPPORT was requested or received.

WMG required a 12month contract commitment even though it only takes 3-6months for the type of service that we received. Like others have reported - at times it felt like our consultant was slow-rolling us in order to draw the whole thing out - to justify the monthly fees that we were paying. Finally - WMG has an onerous contract termination clause that requires 60-day notice or the contract will "automatically renew". Even though the total contact between WMG and our firm came in the form of not more than a couple of emails over the final 3-4months of our relationship with WMG - they stuck to this 2-month cancellation policy. Almost seemed as though they intentionally got quiet near the end so that we would "forget" - and the contract (with the bills) would keep coming - FOR NO SERVICE requested, required or provided.

Finally - when we complained about being billed for the final (13th month) - a period during which virtually NO SERVICE was required or requested - WMG was not willing to even discuss our dissatisfaction and subsequently submitted the issue to a collection agency. It is no longer worth our time to debate a $1600 bill we will pay.

Just like gym memberships that require 60-90 days notice to cancel your membership WMG's policies suggest the type of service and business practice that they truly are.

DO NOT USE WMG FOR YOUR GSA Contract consulting! No one worth their salt will obligate you to a 12-month contract with a 2-month cancellation requirement if they provided a good/valuable service.
