Chickenfeed is a retail outlet with many stores located Tasmania wide. Tasmania is a state of Australia. It is rumoured that this chain store will be spreading to other states.

I personally would like to warn consumers to avoid shopping in this store as the merchandise it sells of the non food variety is absolute rubbish. I have visited this store on four seperate occassions just to get satisfaction on a faulty item I purchased. Sure they were willing to exchange the goods or give a refund but what totally peeved me was the fact when examining the batch of goods that the faulty item came from (A pet feeder) there were at least eight (8) of the faulty units on display. This was promptly pointed out to the sales assistant who thanked me for bringing this to his attention.in the end not finding a unit that was free from defect and would do what it was advertised to do I obtained a refund; note after my fourth visit.

Three days latter, I was passing the store and saw the same faulty units being sold for the exactly the same price. One would think that if a batch was faulty it would be withdrawn and sent back to the manufacturer. Not so at Chickenfeed it would seem as this crap was made in China, they bought it at a dirt cheap price and it seems their policy is that some succor will buy it and then when discover it faulty, endevour to repair it themselves because the item is cheap. This is not the point. Not all people are handy enough to repair these sort of items and a lot of pensioners shop at these stores and being aged or frail have to go begging for some one to rectify something that should not have been sold faulty in the first place.

I am employed and paid for by the hour for the work I do, sure, I got a refund for the item but who is going to compensate me for taking the item back four times to the store. Some peoples mentallity is that if they bought it cheap and it does not work they can throw it away. Sorry not this black duck, I do not give a continental if the owner of Chickenfeed gives all of her profits to charity. I refuse any longer to contribute to her charites nor visit her stores again. I advise others to do the same, I have tried their so called complaints department and wrote this complaint to them only to be totally ignored. Their attitude is if you don't like our lack of quality then do not shop here.

Fine, I won't and I will tell every one else not to as well.
