Select Shopper Advertising scam - menu maile

A woman named Mary came into my store and asked if I would be interested in advertising with her Select Shopper Mailer. It seemed like a good deal so unfortunately I wrote her a check and asked for a proof. I never received the proof and called her. She did return my call saying she was on vacation and would take care of it right away. It's been almost a month and I never received one coupon from the mailer nor did I receive a proof. I've asked several of my customers if they received it and of course they had not. It was supposed to go out to 10,000 local businesses including my own. Needless to say I never received it. After researching on the internet (something I will do from now on BEFORE paying anyone) I came across complaints about her and realized I had been scamed. If you are a new business owner, please never pay anyone before the ad goes to print!
