Hot Iron Marketing, it has been well over two year and still no payment

Well, I have been holding my tongue for three years now. This company owes my company well over 100k. Here is the background. A well known retailer came to us and wanted a reference to a company to do some work. We turned them over to Encompass Media Group and Hot Iron Marketing and they received the business. They in turn hired us for the staffing portion of the project. Well, the work was done by us, to the satisfaction of both Encompass and the final client. We sent the invoice and were never paid. This was three years ago. So we took them to court. Our signed contract stated that the jurisdiction be assigned to Los Angeles, CA. We went through the process and they never responded, never showed up to the court for the trial nor contacted the court. So we won by default judgment. We tried several times to try and collect on this judgment, only to have our calls and emails go unanswered or ignored. We then hired a collection specialist who told us we needed to have the judgment domesticated. That process is still going. These guys never once told us why they were not paying us nor gave us a reason. They simply decided to hold onto the money for themselves. So here is my advice. Never work for them, if you are considering it..in any capacity. If you are a brand considering hiring this company, you need to know that they will never pay their vendors. There are so many reputable companies out there, do not use one that refuses to pay their bills. Why trust your brand in the hands of someone that shady? A quick dive into their history will show several cases against this company (all with verdicts against Encompass) with the amounts of money quite high. Honestly, I have been in this business for over 20 years and I have never ever witnessed a more underhanded and shady company. Stay clear of these guys.
