Direct TV Cancellation Fee
Military guy ripped off for services not recieved

I moved in with my parents after i got home from iraq and ordered direct tv service.

They said i had to pay $295.18 up front for deposit and installation of service. They were suppose to hook it up and never showed. I called and they said they would be there the next day and again they nerver showed. When i called again they said that there was a flag on my order because owed a back account with them under my uncle. I told them that i have never lived with my uncle and dont even talk to him and that the time in question i was on a military base training to leave for Iraq. They said that there was nothing they could do about the service until this issue was resolved.

I told them that i wanted to cancel the order and they were not to take the money out of the bank. A day later they took $295.18 out of the account. I had also contacted the bank and they said they would file the dispute and flag the transaction.

I contacted the bank before they took it out. My money has not been returned. My bank said the dispute had been declined because direct tv wouldnt give the money back and i had to contact them myself. Icontacted direct tv and they told me that all deposites and fees were non-refundable. I never recieved their services, equipment or installation so how can they keep my money for services never recieved. They rip people off. Can they do this? If so no wonder our country is in the financial shape its in!
