Rebate ripoff

Shops, Products, Services

I sent in a rebate for an ISOPERFECT Pillow on 2 Jan 10. I included the Rebate form, the receipt and the UPC code cut out of the product package. On 15 Jan I received an email informing me that the rebate was invalid because I did not include the UPC code.

I in fact did include the code with my mailing. Now I do not have a UPC to send in.

This is a known strategy to avoid paying the rebates. We send it, they "loose" it and we have nothing to show for it. I have heard of this scam before

The second step in the ripoff involves the rebate fullfilment company "finding" the UPC and submitting it to the MFG or retailer to show that they paid the rebate to the the consumer.

If Staples can make good on their rebates, why can't Bed Bath and Beyond?

No one in this household is going to shop at their store again. And have the same stuff for the same price or cheaper and they don't ripoff people.

Sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company. Plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
