Pushy marketing customer service rep would not allow me to closed a dormant account

I called Discover Card customer's service 1-800-347-2683. Was on hold for over 15 mins before reaching a human being. I was serviced by Myra and told her I'm ONLY calling to closed a dormant account. She kept offering sales pitches one right after another. I told her Discover does not provide any benefits to me because majority of the places I spend my money doesn't accept Discover and I have other credit cards I rather use. She talked to me like I had just graduated from high school or I didn't know any better about credit. I kept redirecting the purpose of the phone call is to cancel my account not to restore it or for it to remain active. She started diverting the conversation away from my purpose and that it would be momentarily before it will be closed. Meanwhile, she kept throwing more sales pitches about cash back bonuses so finally I asked for her name, told her my purpose of calling and that I'm not interested in any of her offers. I threatened to audiotape the conversation which lead her to HANG up. It wasted 10-15 mins of my time to get a leezy rep to cancel my account?! I called back and was told my account was already cancelled. Took her name down and spoke with a supervisor. Normally I will not go to an extent to report bad service but since she took up 10 mins of my time trying to misguide the phone call, I will make every effort that these kinds of scumbags from Discover is be broadcast!
