Cinnamon Ridge Luxury Apartment Community, Arnel Management Company Arnel Management Company withheld most of deposit based on minor repairs

I lived at Cinnamon Ridge in 2005 for exactly one year before they were about to raise the rent on my 1 bedroom apartment. I was in school at the time so the unit was left relatively empty.

Upon moving out the apartment was practically as I had left it, but Arnel Management deducted most of the deposit for cleaning and repainting expenses. The unit did not need repainting. There were a slew of deductions e.G. Cleaning vertical blinds $10, cleaning counters, etc. Rather than a single amount for cleaning the entire unit. I did not pursue any action against them.

They, however, did deduct a reasonable amount from my deposit, nor comply with California law to do their inspection within 48 hours before move-out date to give tenant (s) the opportunity to "fix" what needed to be done in order to not be deducted so much in deposit. They have many complaints about them - wish I had known about usacomplaints.com before renting from them. Their utility company is also owned by Arnel Management; I found articles online about how people were complaining about the fact they were overcharged on their utilities e.G. Couple that left town for a month and somehow ended up with a bill that was much higher than when they were present in the unit.
