Wireless the deceptive ripoff business that doesnt give a dam company

I electronically sent the wrong amount to Cingular Wireless by several hundred dollars. I recently got a new cellular phone, so I called Cingular to cancel my account on June 16th and spoke with Nole Jordan. He told me that they would send me the balance on my account within 3-7 business days.

As I had asked, they immediately turned off the phone.

On July 2nd, I received a bill for the phone that was no longer in operation. They even deducted the money from my balance and told me that I didn't need to send a payment.

I called Cingular and spoke with Joshua Perkins of Wichita Falls, TX and again requested that Cingular refund the balance on my account. He told me that Mr. Jordan had not properly requested the balance to be sent to me. He also told me that Cingular should not have billed me for the inoperable phone. He promised that a check would arrive within 5-10 business days. He mentioned that his boss would have to approve the return of MY money.

As of July 17, I have not received the balance of my account. It's now been 26 business days since I called Cingular, and they have not sent any information regarding the balance on my account.

I have now called Cingular three times and waited for about 90 minutes, and have not gotten any response. What does it take to get my money returned?

My next step is to write this same letter to the general manager of consumer service. I am sure that they would like to know that Cingular's phone centers are run by people who are improperly trained and lack the authority to do their job properly.
