Nearly $200 in Overdraft Fees After Large Charge Posted First

After a company erroneously attempted to charge my debit card 5 times for over $500.00, I called SunTrust and asked that this company not be given access to my account funds to prevent this from occurring again. I was told that this could not be done and that I would need to deal with the merchant itself.

A few days later, it happened again, and my card was charged another $500.00 plus, which overdrafted my account. There were several small charges "pending" when this happened, so of course SunTrust ran the big charge through first and the smaller ones that were already there last.

I incurred nearly $200.00 in overdraft fees because of this! I was also talked to very "smart" by the customer service representatives about the issue.
