My daughter took her family and my husband and I to the Sears Portrait Studio in Montgomery Mall in PA. We were greated by a lady who took the information and than disappeared to go take a personal phone call. Than we went back to have our photos taken, by a young man who told us up front that we were the first customers that he had that he was going to handle on his own. The backdrops did not hang right and my husband had to hold the corner of the backdrop so that the pictures could be taken. The photographer could not figure out how to pose my two grandchildren ages 2 and 3 and he also did not work with them to make them smile. The pictures were not centered nor did he get many pictures that were exceptable. When it came time to look at the photos he was told by the manager to go and take a break and that the another salesperson was going to help us. She also did not know what she was doing and erased several photos, made up a Christmas card that was spelled in correctly and she also did not know how to price any package. We had a 60% off coupon, a portrait package for $7.99 coupon, and a free photo montage all the coupons included a free sitting fee. She first told us that no packages were eligible for the 60% off coupon, the portrait package of $7.99 would not work with the photos we had taken but she could offer us a $350 package that would include a photo CD. We were never told the cost of any package before we went in, nor did any associate answer our question in regards to the cost of the packages, so hearing that it was going to cost $350 was shocking to say the least. We finally decided to take the photo CD which the 60% coupon could be used for and would cost us a mear $135.00 tax.
When we went to check out the sales person told us that she did not know how to ring up the coupon but we could pay $299 and when the manager came back from break they would send us a refund. When I said that was not going to happen and that she needed to get her manager, she become outraged and even ruder than she was before. She called her manager and the manager ignored 4 calls, than she answered the 5th call, told the sales person that she had no intentions of coming back and that the sales person needed to figure it out, after another 1/2 hour she finally figured out how to do the coupon but than did not know how to enter my daughter credit card so we finally ended up using our card and finally leaving the store. This photo session took 2 1/2 hours and made my daughter fiance late for work. I have tried to reach the sears portrait customer service person Ms. Black and after 3 phone calls she has not bother to return my calls. Sears Photo Studio has to be the worst place to have family portraits taken and I would not recommend their service to anyone.
