Direct TV
Why are we paying for excessive advertising and "paid programming"?

Shops, Products, Services

I cannot, for the life of me, understand or accept the fact that I PAY for cable/Direct tv, and almost 65% of what I get to see, is advertising. The commercials are getting out of hand, with some "commercial breaks" adding up to be as long as the program that I'm watching. To make things even worse, if you turn your guide on after midnight, 85% of the stations are playing "paid programming". Why should I be paying for advertising? Isn't Direct tv making enough money off of me from what they charge me every month? I am cancelling my service tomorrow, and I suggest everyone who reads this do the same. The only way you can make a company change it's business practices, is by hitting it's pocketbook. When are these fools going to get it?: Most of us WILL NOT buy garbage that we see on the "paid programming". I for one, will purposely not buy ANYTHING that I see or hear over-advertised on tv or radio. A good example: automoblile companies and dealerships. Myself and several of my friends have vowed to NEVER buy a vehicle from a dealership again, due to the annoying and obnoxious over-advertising in the media. Hopefully folks will join our cause, and eliminate this waste of time and money, starting with Direct tv.
