If you are young and don't need money, can put up with long hours, and can go days without eating lunch, by all means go work for this company. BUT if you are looking for a dependable, stable pay rate and need to provide for a family... DO NOT work for this company. They use their employees and independent contractors for all they can get. The Kirby itself is not bad, but the tactics, sales pitches, and employment opportunities are. If you become a rep for this company, be prepared for a long road. Some people it comes easier to, but others lie to get that extra dollar. The Kirby business is one of those that you never can tell if someone is honest or not.

The Kirby sells itself really. When someone came to my house and showed it, I was impressed. Only I was unwilling to pay $2,000 for a vacuum. I know they are sold for $990 or even $800, so why would they lie to me and make me pay 3x it's worth. Someone is always looking to make a buck in this world, but not off my wallet. Not only are they willing to charge me more, but also willing to lie about what got them where they are today. Some reps give sad sob stories to make older people help them with their "contest". Other reps are honest and say they work off commission... WHICH THEY DO.
Do you want to walk into someones home and know that you are about to sell them an over priced vacuum? Even if they can't afford it? Or would you be willing to lie about some contest to get them to buy it from you?

If you see a van full of people pull into you neighborhood or driveway, where the men are wearing shirt and tie, and women wearing professional attire, be nice to them. Know that they are with Kirby and are trying to make a living, and also remember someone is trying to make a buck or two. Don't fall for it, and don't fall for the "Make Big Bucks Here" or "Want to be your own boss" ads you may see. It is a bunch of malarkey.
