Aelous Property Management ripped me off by not returning my deposit because of damage she said that I caused, when in fact it was faulty work within the home that I leased from her for 18 months. Springfield, Missouri

I leased a home from Aelous Property Management from June 07 through April of 09. My deposit was not returned because Julie accused me of causing Damage to the home. When in fact the damage was caused my a faulty (and very dangerous) issue with the Ventless Fireplace.
The fireplace was not burning correctly and I did not realize this as I had no previous experience with this sort of thing. There was no manual available to me to refer to. This caused of the walls that quite gradually over the months.
Julie told me it was my fault and even accused me of moving the logs in the fireplace that caused the damage. I was appalled!
When I first moved into this home I should have known she was a neglectful manager for many reasons, the thing that comes to mind that should have been a real alarm to me is even though I spoke to her many times that the water was turned off and wanted to make sure it was turned on, it was not. The yard had not been mowed in MONTHS (weeds 6' tall!) and come to find out the mowing service was not mowing the right yard as there was no address on the home. She had not even DRIVEN by the property to see. YOU CALL THIS A MANAGER!!!???
After doing some research I realized that there MANY complaints filed against her not only by renters but by people that used her services for her to manage their property!
She uses her general knowledge of Ark Rental laws, because she believes no one will question her.
While I did not have the time or money to file a law suit (like so Many) I am in hopes that by filing a report with access to the public, enough potential clients will see this and not do business with her and put her out of business so no one else will be ripped off by her.
I was a very good renter. Fixed up the home, paid my rent on time and did all that I believed was in good faith.
This company should be shut down!
