Experience Moving (or lack there of)

It was hard and frustrating to find a moving company that we "thought" that we could trust with our upcoming move from Las Vegas, Nevada to Larned, Kansas. We talked with several different companies and when we spoke with Falicia and Alex with "Experience" we felt a bit more comfortable with the choice to go with them as our moving company. Falicia came to our home and did an in home estimate for our move and gave us a quote of 1300.00 and with being a school teacher, money is tight and this was exactly the price range that we were looking for. Falicia gave us a written quote and from what we were told, federal law did not permit them to change the quote once it was given. Well, it did change, and of course it was after they had loaded all our belongings. Alex, who showed up and stated that Falicia no longer worked with Experience due to her being fired for reason's he stated he didn't want to get into. They loaded all our belonging's and then Alex stated that you have more boxes than listed, which we told them would be 60 large boxes as well as a motorcycle, which was damaged very much by them. Well, when I loaded the first large box, it weighed well over 100 lbs so I decided to use much smaller boxes, so noone would take a chance of straining thier back or anything due to the weight, which came to 191 small and medium boxes. Alex told us after loading everything that the price would be 3800.00 and not the 1300.00 as the initial quote would be and we stated we have a written quote from Falicia and he stated "Well, she doesn't work for us anymore so that quote is void". And that if we wanted him to he could have his guy's take all the item's off the truck and bring them back in for only 1900.00 to cover the cost's of the time they spent loading and unloading the truck. We had to leave Nevada that next day and didn't have time to do any searching for a U-haul which were all unavailable at the time and needed to have at least a 2 week waiting period. We were in the proverbial rock and a hard spot. We told him fine, just deliver it on time and we gave him 1000.00 down and the final payment when the driver arrived in Kansas. We also went with Experience because they stated several times that they did not and would never use brokers, well there's another lie, at least they have experience in that area. When the mover's arrived, I was expecting an experience moving truck, nope, it was a rental with yes, a broker. We gave him the initial money and they unloaded our item's, the motorcycle first, the head light assembly was broken as well as both mirror's, an 800.00 reptile tank, smashed, the bbq grill was smashed, leg's broken, handle broken and some of my wife's great grandmothers china was broken. I called Alex, which took several day's to contact since he was "on vacation", but when I called with another number, not my own, guess who answered, Alex. What a surprise. He told me to go F@*k myself that he wasn't paying for anything and if it was broken we probably did it ourselves. That's it, I'm going to smash up my own motorcycle, my bbq grill, a reptile tank that I needed since I do have a large iguana, and my wifes great grandmothers dishes. And he stated that if I wanted I could go get a lawyer and spend more on the lawyer than the item's were worth. Well, I think now it's the principle of the matter, and I will seek a lawyer if I can afford it and contact the BBB as well as the Attorney General. This should be illegal for companies to act in this manner. Isn't this why our country is in the condition it is now. There is no protection for people like you and I, the average American, just the law's by lawmaker's that allow companies to screw us and then do it again and get away with it.
