DFW Shredding
DFW Shredding does a bait-and-switch on their charges to shred documents

Beware as on their website, it appears that if you take one box of documents over to them to be shredded, it is $5. It is really $10 but their website is set-up to mislead you into thinking it is $5 per box. They use a play on words.

I thought it was $5 and took a box of documents over Saturday to be shredded and a girl said it was $10. I told her I thought it was $5 but went ahead and paid her the $10 as I did not have a print-out from the website to prove this. While I was paying, another customer came up to have a box of documents shredded and she thought it was $5 also; however, this lady had the print-out from the website. It is clearly misleading.

We told the girl to call the manager as we both wanted to speak with him. She called him and he came to where we were. They work out of a rented storage locker in Plano, TX. His name is Shafik (Indian I think) and we showed him the website print-out and how misleading it was.

He got became very nasty and angry and started arguing with us. He admitted that his website makes people think it is $5 per box for shredding but that it is really $10 per box. He said that if people thought it was $10 per box he would loose business.

So in effect, he admitted that he purposely misleads people into thinking it is $5 per box so he can get more business. What a scammer but I have always heard this is the normal way people from the Middle East do business.

The other customer said she had heard there was a free shredding service in Plano TX, but she did not know where it was located. I am going to search for it but I will never go back to DFW Shredding.
